Our Approach to Energy, Resources, and Nature

Nature is our most important capital. It must be protected and preserved in the best possible way so that guests from near and far can continue to come to us in the Ahrntal Valley to enjoy our alpine nature. In order for this to happen, we all need to help - as hosts, but also as guests, we have to think about our approach to energy, resources and nature.

What we do today determines what the world will look like tomorrow.

Energy & heating

We obtain our energy from hydropower by the "Ahrntaler E-Werk Genossenschaft".

We have our own biomass heating system, which is fired with wood (wood chips and wood briquettes). We are also not closed to new technologies, which is why, in 2007, we put a heat pump into operation that can cover parts of our heating and cooling requirements with geothermal energy.

Mobility & public transportation

The "Südtirol GuestPass" is your ticket for public transport in Südtirol / South Tyrol! You will receive it upon arrival at our hotel and can then use the buses and regional trains of public transport throughout the region for the entire duration of your stay. Whether you want to go to the skiing area, shopping in town or to the starting point of a hiking tour, you can leave your car in our parking lot. Or you can leave it at home and choose an arrival by train and bus.

Waste separation & recycling

Here at the Alpine Life Hotel Anabel we pay very close attention to proper waste separation and the purchase of recycled and recyclable products. All garbage is separated by us and disposed of accordingly at the recycling center of our municipality. Where possible, we also try to reduce waste. You will notice this, for example, at our breakfast buffet, where we avoid unnecessary packaging as much as possible. This allows us to avoid a lot of unrecyclable waste.

To make recycling work well, we also rely on your help. The following tips will help you avoid unrecyclable waste and preserve our environment in the best possible way:

There is a trash can in the bathroom for residual waste. Everything that can be recycled belongs in the trash can in the bedroom - we will then take care of the proper separation and disposal.
Do not dispose of garbage on the mountain (also not on huts, as it has to be transported back to the valley from there). - just bring it back with you and dispose of it at our hotel.
Bring your own bathing slippers if possible.
Bring your own care products (body lotion & co.) if possible. Small care products in hotel rooms cause a lot of waste, which can be easily avoided.

Approach to food

We are deeply committed to a mindful approach to food. That's why we make sure to source our food and beverages as locally as possible and avoid unnecessary packaging where we can. In this way, we reduce transport routes, waste and promote small cycles as well as local agriculture. You will notice this, for example, at our breakfast buffet, in the wine and beverage list or on our menu at dinner.

Rooms, living & conscious use of rescources

Our rooms and suites are equipped with mainly natural materials and built by local craftsmen and companies. This not only saves transport routes, but also strengthens the local economy.

You can help us with the conscious use of resources too, because washing the bed linen, towels, bathrobes & Co. consumes a lot of water & energy. In our hotel, you decide how often this laundry is changed during your stay.
